Pratt & Whitney – looking at their breakthrough PurePower engine which has achieved unprecedented 15% increases in fuel efficiency in a world where 3 % increases were considered stellar and thus secured orders for 6000 new engines scheduled for production with a backlog of new engines not seen in CT since the late 70’s early 80’s. We speak with Tom Prete who talks about the meaning of having a more fuel efficient engine and John Guidone who gives us a tour of their new facility.
After visiting the company who powers 25% of the worlds major aircraft, we return to David high in the skies over Connecticut – in a single engine private aircraft. Caught up by the sights and thrills of being in an aircraft over CT, yet too late to land David leaps to Break Bread with State Troubadour and Simply Smiles Charity leading lady Kristen Graves. With part of their work based in Oaxaca, Mexico, Kristen knows well the Mexican culture and food, and brings David to her favorite family run authentic Mexican grocery and food store – Los Portales in Norwalk.
